Jacob And Co. Timepieces Win Accolades
The world-famous Five Time Zone watches made by New York-based company Jacob and Co. have won prestigious accolades over the years. After blasting onto the international watch-making scene in 2003, owner Jacob Arabo has won the “Best Travel Watch” award from Time and Leisure Magazine in 2006 for his “The World is Yours” model. This unique timepiece used colored diamonds and various materials to form the world’s continents and oceans on the watch face, while sporting the classic Five Time Zone feature. Significant recognition came to Jacob and Co. again at the Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite auction in Hong Kong in 2008. The highest bid, $5.78 million, was for a cushion-shaped 34.07-carat diamond ring made by the famed jewelry company. A private collector was the new owner of the exquisite piece, which featured a D color and internally flawless stone. “It is a source of genuine pride for me to see our pieces be among the top selling items at one of the most prestigious jewelry auctions in the world,” said Arabo. After over 20 years in the business, Arabo has become one of the most famous jewelers in the world. He is the jeweler of choice for numerous celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez, Paris Hilton and David and Victoria Beckham.
